Police rescues sacked Ondo APC Chairman in’anointing’ crisis saga.

Few days to the holding of primary to choose it’s candidate for the forthcoming governorship election in Ondo State ,the All Progressives Congress (APC) is in the eyes of a severe storm over an alleged anointing of a candidate for the election .

The storm resulting from a forceful takeover of the party Secretariat by a group of party men and purported sack of its state Chairman Mr Isaac Kekemeke has snowball into creation of two factions in the state leading to the police sealing off the party’s secretariat .

Serious crisis broke out according to inside party sources at the secretariat after supporters of three governorship aspirants sacked the chairman and sympathisers of the chairman clashed at the secretariat.

Supporters of Kekemeke were however said to have attempted to forcefully eject the faction, who took over the secretariat after Kekemeke was removed thereby resulting in a serious clash between the different groups .

Their action followed several allegations they leveled against Kekemeke and his style of leadership , especially speculation of his having “anointed ” a particular aspirant even before the primary and some other anti-party activities.

In the meantime however, the national leadership of the party has waded into the crisis rocking its Ondo chapter and reportedly summoned all parties to the dispute for an emergency meeting.

The deputy national secretary of the party, Ngofa Oji later spoke to journalists on the issue in Abuja confirming that a meeting of all parties involved in the dispute has indeed been called to hold on Saturday.

He said the leadership of the party has not sanctioned any aspirant for the state coming governorship primary election.
