Police authorities in Abia State, in the South East of Nigeria have announced the arrest of 37 suspected kidnappers in the State.
According to Commissioner of Police in charge of Abia Command, Mr Ibrahim , the suspected kidnappers were arrested when policemen raided a criminal hideout in Uhuru in Oshimeli local government area.
The Police boss who paraded the suspects before newsmen in Umuahia, said the arrest was made possible following a tip off to the police.
He also paraded a suspect he claimed was arrested for killing one Ndubusi Ekpo and made away with his motorcycle at Ahafia.
He appealed to residents of Abia to always furnish the police with useful and relevant information about persons with questionable character in their midst with a view to helping the police to be proactive in curbing crime in the State.
Speaking to newsmen at the police headquarters where the parade took place, one of the suspected kidnappers who gave his name as Onyeama confessed that he was lured into the act by a friend.
