Less than a day after a bomb blast almost claimed the lives of one of the leaders of the All Progressives Congress APC, General Mohammadu Buhari and a cleric ,Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, another one has hit New Road Motor Park in Sabon – Gari in Kano, Kano State.
Hit to the chagrin of many residents of Sabon- Gari was the same motor park which had been bomb once during which close to 60 people died and several other victims suffered different degrees of injuries.
The recent blast happened on Thursday at about 3.00pm as an improvised explosive device hidden by the perpetrators in a bag and said to have been dropped near a vehicle exploded.
The bag, according to reports reaching Newsanewng, was dropped by two men who feigned to be travelers but unknown to people around allegedly dropped the bag in a table-top fridge close to the buses that were supposed to be on cue to travel.
The Kano State Commissioner of Police, Mr Aderenle Shaba has visited the scene of the incident and disclosed that as at the time of this report one woman died in the blast ,with five other persons wounded.
The Police boss confirmed that the explosive was hidden in a wheel barrow near a bus and assured that investigation has already begun into the blast..
The Kano State Governor Alhaji Rabiu Kwankwanso has visited the scene of the blast describing it as condemnable and unfortunate.
