……Jimoh Ibrahim/Ebenezer Alabi of Sheriff led PDP slugs it out with other parties candidates.

A panel of the Court of Appeal on Friday aborted its planned judgment that people perceived would have restored Eyitayo Jegede as the official candidate of the People’s Democratic in the upcoming Ondo state governorship election.

Justice Ibrahim Salauwa, who led the three-judge panel, arrived in court with high expectations from the Mimiko led group but stated that a judgment slated for today could no longer be given because the Supreme Court had transmitted to the Court of Appeal that an appeal was pending before it.

Political watchers and analysts following the PDP Ondo State debacle however believe that Fridays decision by the Appeal Court could in fact be seen as a face-saving measure by the court .

This is so as a series of tweets by some media outfits in the country had revealed a plan to deliver a judgment that would favor Governor Segun Mimiko of Ondo State who allegedly bribed judges in the case.

The Supreme Court had on Tuesday transmitted a notice of appeal to the Court of Appeal, but the Court of Appeal ignored the notice and went on to rush a hearing on Wednesday.

The justices also adopted the briefs presented by a lawyer representing Mr. Jegede during a tense hearing.

Meanwhile, Friday aborted judgment manifest spelled gloom in Akure on Friday where thousands of PDP members issued with party hats were waiting to celebrate a judgment that would have decided for Mr. Jegede as the party’s governorship candidate.

Jegede as at the time of this report called on the factions supporters through the State owned media to remain calm and continue their ” house to house campaigns towards the Guber poll slated for Nov 26.

With Fridays indefinite adjournment it is now certain that Dr Jimoh Ibrahim and Ebenezer Alabi of Sheriff faction would be contesting on the
PDP slot in the election not withstanding the the start of hearing of the case by the Supreme Court next Tuesday as told by Jegede to his supporters.
