“Ondo House of Assembly C’ttee on Education will leave lasting legacies”…..Hon Banso.

The Ondo State House of Assembly Committee on Education, Science and Technology has called on all stakeholders in the education sector to give adequate cooperation to it in order to raise the standard of education in the State.

Chairman of the Committee, Hon Adeyinka Banso made the appeal on Tuesday when he led members of the Committee on a familiarization visit to the Ministry of Education and some of its agencies in Akure, the state capital.

Hon Banso noted that education is an industry which needed to be improved upon from time to time so as to leave lasting legacies for incoming generations.

Pointing out that the Committee’s visit would be regular, the lawmaker representing Akoko North West Constituency 1, directed the Ministry of Education, its agencies and departments to come up with their briefs and send same to the Committee.

He thanked the Ondo State governor and President Goodluck Jonathan for deeming it fit to site a Federal Polytechnic in Ile Oluji, and sought the maximum support of the people of Ondo state for them.

He solicited for the cooperation of the Ministry and all its agencies so that the committee will achieve all its set goals to improve the standard of education in the state in a not too long period.

Hon Banso further asked them to accord his team the impressive kind of support which he noted was given to his predecessor,now the Speaker of the State House of Assembly.

In his own speech, another lawmaker who is also the vice chairman of the committee ,Hon Oyebo Aladetan called for proper implementation of education policies by the State Ministry of education

Responding to the Committee chairman’s address, thr State Commissioner for Education, Mr Jide Adejuyigbe said his Ministry was committed to always give adequate priority to education standard with a promise to make Ondo state the best in the country.

Adejuigbe highlighted some of the steps taken so far to revolutionise education to include training and retraining of teachers, construction and renovation of modern school buildings, introduction of information communication technology,ICT.

He solicited the cooperation of members of the House Committee with his Ministry and pledged the support of all the agencies and departments under it to be able to uplift the standard of education in Ondo State.

In company with Hon Banso on the tour were Hon Oyebo Aladetan,Vice chairman House Committee, the Chairman SUBEB,Mr Ade Adeniyi, Chairman Ondo State Scholarship Board, Mr Dayo Awude and TESCOM representative.
