The All Progressives Congress, APC , candidate for ,Ogun East Senatorial seat,Prince Dapo Abiodun, has dragged Prince Buruji Kashamu of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP before the election tribunal sitting in Abeokuta, urging the court to declare that Kashamu did not win the election.
Abiodun, who is being represented by his counsel, Alhaji Yusuf Ali, SAN, is contending in his petition, that the March 28, 2015 National Assembly poll that produced Kashamu was rigged.
He is further alleging that the PDP senatorial candidate induced voters with cash even before the voting started, pointing out that there were clear indication of manipulations in some areas during collation of results.
Parr of his contention is also that the number of those who voted in some polling units, exceeded the number of accredited electorates arguing that in many polling units identified in four local governments viz: Ijebu North, Sagamu, Remo North and Ikenne the election results on Forms EC8A, EC8B and EC8Cs did not correspond. .
For example ,he noted that election did not take place in wards 5 and 7 in Sagamu and another ward in Ogun Waterside Local governments , because the voters who turned out to cast their votes did not present their Permanent Voter’s Cards.
