Nigeria’s Former Vice President,Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has appealed to Nigerians irrespective of religion to use the opportunity of the Ramadan period to pray fervently for the country to overcome its current security challenges.

Atiku made the appeal while breaking his fast with political correspondents in Abuja.

He stressed the need for every well meaning citizens of the country to see and take the war against Boko Haram group as a collective battle that must be won.

Responding of behalf of the correspondents ,the chairman, FCT Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Chuks Ehirim thanked the former Vice President for his fellowship even outside the corridor of power.

Ehirim used the forum to denounce the impression being created by security operatives in the country that media workers were helping insurgents to carry about their weapon of destruction, noting that such insinuation against the media was quite derogatory and indeed unfortunate.
