Nigeria hosts World Economic Forum May7-9. ….assures tight security

The Federal Government has pledged its commitment to provide all necessary logistics needed in the area of security to ensure a hitch free World Economic Summit scheduled for May 7th -9th in Abuja.
According to top key players responsible for hosting the forum, the event will hold in grand style not withstanding threats to security in the country particularly last Mondays bomb blast at Nyanya, which left close to four dozens of people dead and several others injured.
Minister of finance and coordinating minister of the economy, Mrs Okonjo Iweala, says the event is expected to showcase Africa and therefore it will attract the largest security ever mounted in the country as the forum is expected to be attended by several African Heads of state and a lot of guests from the European union block.
Also speaking on the summit ,Mr Frank Nweke noted that that the NEFA had been planning the staging of the summit in the last one year.
Nweke, Head of Secretariat, NEFA forsees a summit that may likely take the shape of the last economic summit at Davos ,Switzerland,noting that it might even be a means for the country to showcase its recent feat as the largest economy in Africa
Sources close to the organizing committee of the summit have put the estimated number of policemen that would likely be on duty within the period of the summit at 6000men.
