The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB,has raised an alarm over what it referred to as an alleged attempt by Boko Haram insurgents to burn the popular Onitsha market and other markets in the South East geo- political zone of the country.
Raising the alarm through a statement by its National Director of Inormation,Uchena Madu,MASSOB said the Boko Haram alleged plan was discovered by MASSOB’S intelligence machinery,adding that it is not unlikely that security agencies within the the country equally have the same intelligence report at their disposal.
According to him,MASSOB will”resist any attempt to create such trouble in any part of Iboland”.
He warned that should the Boko Haram sect venture to execute such alleged plan, whether they succeed or not, MASSOB would have no option than to remove its non violent posture but revenge.

The movement with headquarters in Okwe in Okigwe in Imo State is led by a lawyer,Ralph Uwazuruike who was arrested in 2005 and detained on treason charges but got released in 2007.
The Boko Haram sect,is an Islamic group in Nigeria which has evolved from a local insurgency to become a militant group and has attacked Nigeria’s police, churches,public institutions and schools regularly since 2009.
Boko Haram group was designated a terrorist group by the United States in 2013 and has had the attention of the international community turned against her in recent times following the groups abduction of over 270 school girls from Chibok, a town in Borno State,North East of Nigeria.
As at the time of this report, the abducted school girls are yet to be released or freed by the Nigeria military and other nations assisting in the operation
