Late Umaru Shinkafi laid to rest in Sokoto 

Late Marafan Sokoto, Alhaji Umaru Shinkafi, who died in a London Hospital on Thursday has been buried on Friday at the Hubbaren Shehu in Sokoto.

The burial prayer led by Chief Imam Alhaji Usman Akwarra was held after the Friday prayer at the Sultan Bello Mosque.

At the burial was a Federal Government’s delegation led by the Minister of Interior, Retired Brig.-Gen. Abdulrahman Danbazau.

Other members of the delegation were the Ministers of Defence, Water, Aviation, Director-General of the Department of State Services, Mr Lawal Daura, as well as Presidential spokesman, Malam Garba Shehu.

Also in attendance at the prayer was the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, and other traditional rulers from across the country.

The occasion was also attended by the Governors of Sokoto, Niger, Kebbi, Zamfara and Borno states and other National and States Assembly members, as well as other dignitaries from within and outside the state.
