Governor Theodore Orji of Abia state has stated that security and the provision of health care shall continue to be the priority of his administration.
Making this known while inaugurating a N100billion Eye Center and diagnostic center at the Specialist Hospital in Umuahia, the governor said the eye center was meant to cater for those that have deficiencies in their eyes because the serves as light to human beings.
Orji pointed out that the eye center when in full operation is envisaged to be able to carry out 50 eye surgeries every week.
Speaking at the event , the Minister of Health, Prof Onyebuchi Chukwu described Governor Orji as a health friendly governor who needs to be copied by other governors in the country.
The Minister noted that the eye facility will go a long way in the fight by government against blindness in the country ,urging the people of the state and environ to make the beat use of it for their health care in that area.
