Ekiti State Govt launches cameras to fight crime.

The Ekiti State Government has launched a Digital Transformation Broad band project as a tool for strengthening the law and aiding effective policing of its communities.

Speaking while launching the project in Ado- Ekiti on Thursday,the governor of the state Dr Kayode Fayemi stated that the project will include the stationing of digital cameras in strategic places in Ado- Ekiti for surveillance in order to assist security agents to be able to rid the state of criminals.

The governor said the cameras became necessary because the present administration in the state sees the protection of the people as its primary responsibility and the Digital Transformation Initiative would serve as a component of a safer city and an enduring environment.

He enjoined the people to always take precautionary measures and be conscious of their environment in the interest of peace.

Earlier in his speech at the occasion the special adviser to the governor on public utilities, Mr Kayode Jegede stressed the need for stakeholders to key into the government initiative as such will ensure total war against crime in the state.
