Dr Ibe Kachikwu, GMD NNPC
Less than 24hours after taking over the mantle of headship of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation,NNPC, Dr Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, he has relieved eight Group Executive Directors (GED) of the Corporation of their appointment.
According to a competent source in the NNPC, the new Group MD in carrying out his augean stable cleansing task for which President Muhammadu Buhari reportedly appointed him on Tuesday effected the sack of the GEDs first in order to have full control.
The GEDs who were relieved of their duties are: Dr Attahiru Yusuf, Group ED, Business Development Mr. Ian Udoh, Group Executive Director, Refining & Petrochemicals, Mr. Adebayo Ibirogba, Group Executive Director, Engineering and Technical; Dr David Ige, Group Executive Director, Gas& Power.
Others are: Mr. Bernard Otti, Group, Executive Director, Finance & Accounts and Dr Dan Efebo, Group ED,Corporate Services.
The NNPC had been in the eye of the storm for quite sometime now and at the center of several allegations of non remittance of oil sales revenue to the coffers of government most especially during the past administration of Dr Good luck Jonathan as President.
