Police authorities have denied stories making the round that a Divisional Police officer,DPO who reportedly forcefully had sex with a 31 year old woman in his office in Lagos has been released.
The Commissioner of Police, in Lagos, Mr Umar Manko while assuring Nigerians and Lagosians on the case told journalists that the reported DPO, Mr Adekunle Awe had since the incident was reported been in detention.
Manko stressed that anyone who infringes the law, whether civilian or policeman would never be covered by the Lagos command under his leadership.
He insisted that if found culpable, the officer would be made to face the wrath of the law.
Also speaking on the matter, the commands spokesperson, DSP Ngozi Braide said the offender is still in their custody with a panel set up on the case having just commenced investigation..
The DPO in question reportedly forcefully had sex with the woman, Idowu Akinwunmi and threatened her life on the fateful day of the incident.
Ever since the matter was reported the public had been curious to know how the matter ends..
