Counter-Terrorism : No Ethnic Group or Faith is target…..DHQ

The military in Nigeria has said that no matter the threat to the security of the country,it will continue to be non partisan, non sectarian and be a symbol of unity especially to the nations law abiding citizens.
These assurances were given on Tuesday in a statement released by Defense spokesman,Major General Chris Olukolade in response to a statement by the secretary of Jamatu Nasri Islam JNI,Dr Abubakar Aliyu alleging extra judicial killings of muslims and fulani ethnic groups by the military.
According to Gen Olukolade, the Nigeria military does not operate along ethnic or religious line and urged all responsible organisations to cooperate with the military in its efforts to stop security challenges facing the country rather than compounding the situation the more by their unguarded utterances.
He stressed that the Nigerian military would continue to operate as a symbol of patriotism and unifying body with absolute commitment to the course of the nation and all law abiding citizens.
He disclosed that following a distressed call that a group of terrorists were advancing towards an area around the Chad in search of food, the multi national forces troops were able to save people around that area through a cordone and search operation that resulted in the recovery of arms and ammunition from the fleeing terrorists.
