Over 12,000 policemen would be on ground to supervise this months governorship elections in Ekiti State.
The Ekiti State Commissioner of Police ,Mr Felix Onyana announced this while meeting with members of the State Council of traditional rulers.
According to the police boss, eight Commissioners of Police from different commands in the country would also be deployed to the state to monitor the elections.
He added that two police helicopters will also be on duty to undertake aerial supervision of the election.
He said no stone would be left unturned by the police authorities in its bid to ensure a hitch free polls in Ekiti State.
Responding at the meeting ,the chairman, State Council of Obas ,the Onitaji of Itaji ,Ekiti, Oba Adamo Babalola explained that the meeting became necessary in order for the traditional rulers to know the level of preparedness of stakeholders of the polls.
INEC COMMENCES MOVEMENT OF MATERIALS TO EKITI.
In a related development on the Ekiti June 21 elections, the Resident Electoral Commissioner for Ekiti ,Alhaji Halilu Pai, has stated that the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, has already commenced the movement of non sensitive materials to the commissions head office in the State.
The Commissioner who disclosed this while briefing Obas on the state of readiness of INEC for the elections said sensitive materials for the guber elections will however arrive the State two days before the elections to address the problem of delay.
